Spring in Grand Bigard

Posted in Uncategorized on April 12, 2007 by mirkawolf

The long-lasting sunny weather, rather untypical for Belgium, is great for photography. Recently I had a chance to visit wonderfull spring gardens of Grand Bigard (Groot Bijgarden). There were plenty of tulips, daffodils, hyacints and other spring flowers to photograph, as well as a nice “chateau”. I really enjoyed the time, so much, that first time I killed the battery of my camera and filled all cards with images. But it would not do to put them all here, so just a few examples.

This Easter weekend was very rich for photos for me. Saturday I visited the National Botanical Garden in Meise, Belgium and there was plenty of objects to photograph. Not only plants, but also the beautiful castle Bouchout and various animals in the park, like gees, squirrels and rabbits. I particularly liked the greenhouses, where was a wide variety of plants from all the world and plenty of opportunities for nice shots. Definatelly a place that I must visit soon again!

Flowers in Huizingen

With the spring in full bloom, it is impossible to resist and not to point the camera at flowers. While on trip in Provincial domain of Huizingen, the park was full of daffodils, hyacints and other spring flowers, even tulips. I particularly loved the subtle colors of daffodils. It was my little training, before we hit the road to visit Keukenhof.
